This, the most under populated county in England, is described as one of the biggest un-discovered tourist attractions in Europe. The Northumberland borders' with Scotland are steeped in the history of hundreds of years of conflict between the two countries. To the south of the county can be our very own World Heritage Site at Hadrian's Wall which is just one of the county's legacies of the Roman occupation of Britain.
